"We recently had an issue with out AC, and after a quick call to Darrell's (I called before business hours, expecting to leave a message, but he answered!) I was walked through a quick bit of troubleshooting (checking breakers) and such and was then told that a tech could arrive the following day. I then got a call back a couple of hours later and was told that they were able to shuffle things around to fit us in...on a Sunday!!  The tech arrived, was super qualified and nice as heck, and sussed out the issue right away. "I had Stuart & Co replace the HVAC stack in my little 3/2.  An install in a tiny little closet in the main living area has to be much more difficult than doing it in a basement with plenty of room to work.  I can't say they were magical fairies who installed sans mess, but I think i got a good install that will hopefully provide decades of reliable service.  I watched the team like a hawk and peppered them with questions during the install... why is this going here? Stuart arrived within the 2 hour window we were given by the office, and at first I thought, "Who is this young kid?".   But, once he introduced himself as the Son of the owner and talked with us briefly,  his professionalism shown through.
He asked us a few questions about our Air Conditioning unit and he was like a tornado, zipping here and there.  He made sure to keep us informed at all times what he was doing and what tests he was running.  My husband's a real gear head, so he followed Stuart around asking lots of questions.  Stuart didn't mind, in fact,  he kind of like it,  teaching my husband a thing or two.  Within about 20 minutes  Stuart had our diagnosis and report.  He told us that the unit was never installed properly,  that he sees this all the time,  where companies take short cuts and use old  "Stove Pipe"  duct in the attic.  This does something with temperatures and what he called  Splits? He also informed us that the  D. O. E. and. the  E. P. A. ,  both,  banned this type of duct several years ago.  Telling us that current code required a  "Wire Flex"  type ducting that holds temperatures more true to what they should be when they leave the furnace,  or air conditioning.  He showed us the Exit Temperatures at the registers and we were only getting about 12° output.  Stuart informed me that we should be getting about 20°.  He also sat down with us and explained how much money it was actually costing us, Summer and Winter.,  by not installing this new duct.
We went ahead and scheduled the duct replacement,  as expensive as it was - including the required tests and permit.
Afterward, even without being shown,  we could tell that there was a Huge Difference.  Not only was it colder,  (we were getting 22° now),  but it was so much quieter and the airflow was a lot stronger.  We were actually spending about 35% more on our heating and cooling costs than necessary.  And all because a company was either afraid to tell us for fear of losing the installation job,  or,  they really didn't know.  I find the latter not believable.
Thanks to Darrell's Heating and Air,  and a really young looking guy named Stuart, we actually have the Hv/AC system that we thought we were getting before.
We tried to go back to the installation company and have them correct their mistake,  but,  they were out of business...  Of course.

"I'm very happy with the service I've been given today.!  They came out the same day I called them on a really hot day and were able to diagnose the problem quickly, and for free.  Unfortunately the unit I have is 18 years old and they had to really search for replacement motor as it was no longer made.  It only took 2 days to complete the job and the technician worked during the hottest part of the day around 97 degrees.  

I would use them again should I have the need.  Service is warranted for one year."

"Our a/c went on Friday night during a heat wave 100+ degree weekend. We called many places on Saturday morning and were given appt times by other companies of five days out or no answer at all, or $300 charge just to come take a look.
